Emerson Climate Technologies Copeland Brand Products offers the broadest, most reliable condensing unit product line possible. Leveraging the latest in compressor technology, each platform provides you the option to select the refrigerant, horsepower, and application temperature combinations that meet your requirements.

Hermetic Condensing Units

Economical, air-cooled, water-cooled, and evaporative base condensing unit platforms featuring hermetic reciprocating compressor technology. These units are for use in high, medium and low temperature refrigeration applications. Products range from 1/6–5 HP and are available in R-22, R-134A and R-404A refrigerants.

Scroll Condensing Units

Reliable equipment and lower energy costs are at the top of the list of needs for the foodservice and industrial operators. By combining the proven reliability and efficiency of Copeland Scroll™ compressors with the existing benefits of the Copeland™ condensing units these needs can be met.

Scroll condensing units are available for medium and low temperature foodservice refrigeration applications and optimized to work with HFC refrigerant R-404A, a reliable alternative to HCFC
R-22. For the industrial segment the units are available in high and medium temperature and optimized to work with HFC refrigerants R-404A and/or R-134a, both reliable alternatives to HCFC R-22.

Additionally, these units feature other Emerson Climate Technologies products such as the EK Filter Drier, Hermetic Moisture Indicator and Refrigeration Solenoid Valves, all from Emerson Valves, Controls & System Protectors.

The Copeland Scroll Outdoor Condensing Unit is the newest addition to the scroll condensing unit product line for foodservice applications.

Copeland Scroll ZRK5 Compressor

The Copeland Scroll™ ZRK5 compressor has been designed for residential and light commercial air conditioning applications. With the addition of the ZRK5 compressor comes a replacement compressor built upon the quality and established scroll technology that only Copeland Scroll technology can deliver. The Copeland Scroll ZRK5 compressor includes 20 new design enhancements that provide enhanced temperature control and improved efficiency, which adds expert reliability and performance you can rely on.

Copeland Scroll ZRK5 Compressor

  1. Temperature operated disc – features a bimetallic disc that senses discharge temperature and opens at approximately 270˚F internal plenum temperature.
  2. Internal pressure relief – opens at approximately 400+/-50 pounds differential.
  3. Floating seal – separates the high side from the low side and also prevents the compressor from drawing into a vacuum, damaging the electrical terminal.
  4. Internal motor protector – senses both internal temperature and amperage. A tripped motor protector will exhibit a high shell temperature. Allow the compressor to cool to reset the motor protector.

Copeland Scroll ZRK5 offers a line of replacement compressors, available from 1.5–5 HP, which deliver new levels of performance. The compressor is optimized for R-22 and R-407C refrigerants, which are designed for post-2010 aftermarket service applications. Copeland Scroll has opened the door in the HVAC business by providing a compressor that is both environmentally friendly and innovative.

Due to the phase-out of hydrochlorofluorocarbons, Emerson focused on designing a product line for aftermarket replacement needs. The ZRK5 has been engineered with the latest in technology and innovation. ZRK5 is available with polyolester (POE) lubricants to increase compatibility with both R-22 and hydrofluorocarbon refrigerant applications like R-407C. The product line for the ZRK5 compressor has been consolidated from 51 to 12 models for easier compressor stocking.
